Somewhere Project

For this assignment, had to photoshop myself into a scene from a movie. I chose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

After photoshop

Looking back at it, part of me wishes I had done something more creative, but I couldn't think of anything at the time. I struggled to recolor the red glow from the brick wall once I brought myself into the movie, but I think it isn't noticeable from far away.

Letter to My Future Self

Dear Isabel, Twenty years have passed… how has life been in the film industry? That sounds glamorous to word it like that, but you’ve been at this job for a while now so maybe the shock factor has worn off on everyone you tell your profession/major to. Did you ever go back with Courtney Ware and help her with filming? She was really excited when you visited her the summer before you started college. Have you worked on a Marvel or Disney film set yet? Are the Marvel movies still happening, or did they finally slow down in production? That seems weird to think of right now, but I know it’ll happen eventually. It feels childish to ask, but is this job exactly what you thought it would be? My first thought after coming up with this question was that it would be an obvious “no,” but sometimes people get lucky. Maybe things finally started working out the way you’ve been wanting to. Now that sounds depressing, but hey, it’ll never be ‘sophomore/junior year of high school’ depressing. That pr

Logos Project

For this project, we were told to choose five words we thought properly described ourselves. I chose bubbly, kind, patient, cluttered, and adventurous. With each word, I made five sketches to brainstorm before creating a logo for the word. Below are each word with its mood board, sketches, and final logo. Bubbly Kind Patient Cluttered Adventurous (word colorings would change to either white or black depending on background, so I used a night sky gradient to demonstrate the white.)     After creating these logos and their respective mood boards, I decided to choose "bubbly" for the rest of my project. I put the logo on business cards and tested it on 3D objects to make sure it maintained its shape and could be recognizable.     I definitely think I managed to overthink this project, but it was fun to do! My designs definitely were not simple enough to be used as a true logo. I chose the word bubbly because I've always been described as smiling and full of energy. Af

Autoscopy Project

Assignment :  Self portrait alteration. Scan or take a photo your face at 72dpi and transform it into something you never knew of yourselves. Explore layer effects and PhotoShop filters. My autoscopy is supposed to represent me constantly fighting to battle my emotions and keep them in line, which is slowly causing me to crack. I struggled to find an idea for this project, so I was grateful that I had photos taken of myself crying on my phone. Above is the original photo for the project, below are the four gifs I was required to have for the final grade.
